I'm on a boat! Frying Pan, NYC
Frying pan is an old-boat turned bar on Hudson River in New York. If I could use one word to describe it, it would be: "chill."
The menu is filled with grill entries: burgers, onion rings, and lobster rolls with fries. The "I-am-on-a-boat" atmosphere matches the traditional sea-side bar dishes.
The bar is not fancy, and being there feels a bit of like an adventure - the opposite of many glossy new york restaurants. I would recommend it for a relaxed dinner with old friends, or people that know you better than you know yourself.
Tip: Reserve a table outside to be there at sunset: the view is AMAZING.
Warning: if you get sea-sick you might not enjoy it - the boat is docked but still in water, so it can get a bit wobbly when wind blows causing waves to form.
