Work, Work, Work, Work, Work, Work
Work clothes boring clothes?
I disagree. I actually love my office clothes. (Yes, my "work uniform" changes a lot between running a start up, writing in a coffee shop, and leading a business meeting with Wall Street bankers: to be clear, this blog post applies to the last option ;) )
So the statement still stands: I love my office clothes. Putting on a white shirt and a pantsuit (which I think can actually be very sexy and fashionable - but that ( somewhat controversial statement, yes-I-know ;) ) probably deserves its own blogpost... ;) ). Putting on my business attire, I automatically transform from a girl 5 times snoozing her alarm to a young - and competent! - business woman ready to show the world what I got. ;)
Despite the strict business dress code rules that apply in the New York's financial district (where all the banks are located) and midtown (where all the offices are located), I am a big proponent of keeping the work look "professional, feminine and comfortable" as opposed to only "black, white, and ironed."
Thus: business dresses! I could not praise them enough (especially now, when it is like 100 degrees in New York).
My favorite ones are from Banana Republic and Ann Taylor.
Pro tip: buy them on sale! As opposed to high- and street-fashion trends: business-fasion does not change every month. ;)
