The Loeb Boathouse, NYC
It is a beautiful summer day, the sun is shinning, the birds are singing and your boyfriend invites you for a dinner at the Loeb Boathouse in Central Park. Your friends are excited, you are freaking out: he is going to propose!!
Ok, so this is NOT what happened to me when I went to the elegant restaurant yesterday, but apparently this restaurant has one of the highest proposal rates in New York. And I can completely see why: it is absolutely beautiful.
First and foremost: the location is unbeatable. The large outside patio of the restaurant is situated at a lake in Central Park, from which you can see a part of the Manhattan skyline and people (couples) on boats. It makes for the most amazing sunset view.
(Aside: there are also turtles in the water that swim up to the restaurants making all the kids - and all the kids within us ;) - have double the fun.)
The one thing to be cautious of: the restaurant is quite pricy.
Food recommendations: I loved the Herb Crusted Salmon entry. But, it is also worth to mention that appraisers are quite big - so if you want to enjoy the atmosphere and have an amazing summer evening without spending half of your salary getting the delicious Scallop Ceviche and a glass of rose might just be the perfect option.
